Tables are free, but please let us
know how many tables you need as we are getting them from an outside
source. The cut off for tables is April
23rd.
TRAVEL
If you are flying in, there are two
convenient airports; Omaha to the south and Sioux City, Iowa to the north.
Both cities are on I-29 for easy
traveling to the show. Sioux City is a
little closer, but Omaha probably has more flights.
The Motels We Have Found Are:
Closest:
Super 8 Motel
712-423-2101
There are 72 rooms, prices range
from $59 to $70.
A little farther away is:
Winnavegas Inn
1862 Hwy 141, Sloan, IA (on I-29)
There are 52 rooms, price is $68
with AAA or AARP.
This motel is associated with the
Winnavegas casino operated by the Winnabego tribe.

Neither motel offers a group
discount so you do not need to mention this event when you make reservations.
COMMUNICATIONS
A cellular repeater has been
installed in the building so your cell phone will likely work while you are
underground. Wireless internet (1
megabit of bandwidth) is available in some parts of the building. The telephone number at the site is
402-687-2189. This number will only be
answered on April 30th and May 1st .
ENTRY
The entrance to the facility is 50
feet underground, down 3 flights of stairs from ground level. There is a picture of one of the stair
flights below. At ground level, there
is a loading dock and roll up door.
Inside there is a dumbwaiter that can take your boxes/cartons down to
the show level. We will assist you in
getting your items to and from the loading dock to the show area. Big or heavy items can be lowered using the 9
ton crane and a cargo net.
And if you were there last time you
know much fun it is.
Stairs are the only way for people
to get in/out of the building. There are
no handicapped facilities. If you
require assistance getting in/out of the show, we will be happy to assist you
but assume no liability.
There are men’s and women’s restrooms available in the building, but they do not have handicapped stalls. We will also have a couple of portable restrooms outside.
By design, the site is not close to
anything civilized except for the neighboring farms. So there is no opportunity to quickly leave
the show and get something to eat or drink.
The closest towns are Lyons (8
miles) and Decatur (9 miles).
Friday night, April 30th,
we are providing a pizza and liquid refreshment social starting at 5pm.
Saturday morning there will be
beverages and donuts available.
Saturday noon lunch will be
available at the site.
RV
INFORMATION
Since most of the building is
underground, the roof is a very large parking lot. So there is room to accommodate several
RV’s. If you are bringing an RV, please
let me know so we can plan out the space requirements.
We have some 15 amp 120V
hookups available. You’ll need some long extension cords.
Water is available to fill your
fresh water tanks. It is well water at
the site.
There is no RV dump station at the site. There is one located at the rest stop (north
and southbound) at mile 110 on I-29 in Iowa.
There may be others and we will add locations to this list as we find
them.
